Meet Gift Ifijeh

Gift Ifijeh brings a powerful combination of academic excellence and hands-on laboratory experience to her role as Technical Supervisor at SoftCell Laboratories. With a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Utah Tech University, complemented by minors in Chemistry and Health Psychology, Gift possesses a strong foundation in the biological sciences and a multidisciplinary approach to her work.

Since joining SoftCell in May 2020, Gift has rapidly progressed from Research Assistant to General Supervisor, and now to Technical Supervisor. In her current role, she oversees molecular testing operations, manages clinical personnel, and ensures quality control and regulatory compliance. Her expertise in next-generation sequencing technology has been instrumental in validating advanced assays, including a gut microbiome test using NGS.

Gift’s analytical skills shine through her use of Python for statistical analysis of assay performance, demonstrating her ability to bridge molecular biology with data science. Her drive for continuous improvement is evident in her implementation of enhanced workflows and process automation, significantly improving operational efficiency.

In addition to her work at SoftCell’s diagnostic division, Gift contributes to the research arm, Soft Cell Biological Research, where she collaborates on cutting-edge projects involving the human microbiome and L-form bacteria. Her experience with various sequencing platforms and bioinformatics workflows positions her at the forefront of molecular diagnostics and research.

As Technical Supervisor, Gift leverages her diverse skill set – from molecular techniques to data management and leadership – to drive SoftCell’s mission of providing high-quality, innovative diagnostic solutions. Her commitment to excellence and continuous learning makes her an invaluable asset to the SoftCell team.
