UTI Max
Unlock the Power of Precise Diagnostics for Urinary Tract Infections
Deeper Detection. Broader Resistance Coverage. Real Answers.
Some UTIs do not resolve. The patient cycles through infection after infection despite appropriate therapy. The culture comes back "no growth" while the symptoms are obviously real. The first-line antibiotic fails, and then the second one does too. These are the cases standard testing was never built for. UTI Max was. It is a comprehensive PCR UTI test covering a broad range of urinary pathogens, with expanded antibiotic resistance detection spanning ESBL, carbapenemase, and MRSA markers — and the polymicrobial detection that culture is structurally incapable of providing.
Key Benefits:
Identify a comprehensive range of pathogens in a single test
Expanded antibiotic resistance detection — including ESBL, carbapenemase, and MRSA markers
Detect polymicrobial infections that culture routinely misses
Get an actionable result when culture reports "no growth"
Purpose-built for recurrent (rUTI) and complicated (cUTI) presentations
Results typically in 48 hours or less from receipt
We bill insurance for your convenience
When Standard UTI Testing Falls Short
The Clinical Reality of Recurrent and Complicated Infection
Recurrent UTI patients are among the most frustrating in urologic and primary care. They present again and again, they are treated appropriately each time, and they come back anyway. Complicated UTI — structural abnormality, indwelling catheter, immunosuppression, poorly controlled diabetes — layers additional risk on top of an already difficult diagnostic picture.
Culture's limitations compound in exactly these patients. Biofilm-associated organisms resist cultivation. Fastidious pathogens report as no growth. Prior antibiotic exposure — which nearly every one of these patients has — suppresses growth and produces a falsely negative result. And polymicrobial communities, which are strongly associated with recurrence, are collapsed into a single reported organism or written off as contamination.
UTI Max was designed for these patients. It detects a substantially broader pathogen set, screens a comprehensive panel of resistance genes across multiple antibiotic classes, and reports every organism present rather than only the one that grew fastest.
What Comprehensive Molecular Testing Gives You:
Organisms culture cannot grow. Fastidious, slow-growing, and biofilm-associated pathogens are detected on DNA, not on a plate.
The full polymicrobial picture. See every organism in the specimen — one of the greatest advantages PCR holds over culture, and one culture cannot close.
Resistance across drug classes. ESBL, carbapenemase, fluoroquinolone, sulfa, macrolide, tetracycline, vancomycin, and methicillin markers in one run.
A result after antibiotic exposure. PCR still detects pathogen DNA in patients who have already been treated — precisely the patients culture fails.
UTI Max vs. Culture & Sensitivity
Beyond Culture: A Superior Approach to Complex UTI Diagnosis
UTI Max (PCR)
- Quick results expedite the treatment decision
- Enhanced accuracy minimizes false results
- Detects the full polymicrobial community, not just the dominant organism
- Resistance gene detection across multiple antibiotic classes
- PCR will provide a result — even after antibiotic exposure
- Promotes antibiotic stewardship
Culture & Sensitivity
- Extended turnaround time postpones treatment
- Higher potential for false negatives
- Cultures may overlook pathogens that resist cultivation
- Elusive and slow-growing pathogens result as "no growth"
- Polymicrobial infection frequently misread as contamination
- Slow resulting creates poor antibiotic stewardship
The Comprehensive UTI Max Test
Broad Pathogen and Resistance Coverage in a Single Specimen
UTI Max detects a comprehensive range of urinary pathogens — including atypical and difficult-to-culture organisms that standard testing routinely misses — along with expanded antibiotic resistance across multiple drug classes. Every report identifies each organism present, its relative microbial load, and the resistance markers that guide antibiotic selection.
- Specimen Type: Clean catch urine in boric acid preservative
- Turnaround Time: Typically 48 hours or less from receipt of sample
Who Should Order UTI Max
For the Cases That Have Not Responded to Anything Else
Recurrent UTI patients. Multiple infections despite appropriate treatment. Standard testing has not identified the cause. UTI Max is particularly strong at surfacing the polymicrobial infections that drive recurrence.
Complicated UTI. Structural abnormalities, catheter-associated infection, immunocompromised patients, poorly controlled diabetes. Complex presentations need comprehensive testing.
Treatment failures. The antibiotics are not working, the cultures are inconclusive, and the patient is losing faith. UTI Max is built to find what everything else has missed.
"No growth" with obvious symptoms. When culture and clinical picture disagree, culture is usually the one that is wrong. PCR does not need the organism to grow.
